CODE OF CONDUCT
The Burrard’s Code of Conduct is adapted from the British Columbia Cricket League and the International Cricket Council Code of Conduct, October 1992.
The member(s) are responsible at all times for ensuring that play is conducted within the spirit of the game as well as within the Laws.
Member(s) shall not at any time engage in a conduct unbecoming to a club or club official which could bring the club into disrepute.
Member(s) must at all times accept the Club official’s/Captain’s decision. Member(s) must not show dissent at their decision.
Member(s)shall not intimidate, assault or attempt to intimidate or assault another player.
Member(s) shall not use crude or abusive language (known as “sledging”) nor make any offensive gestures, nor appeal excessively.
Member(s) shall not make any public pronouncement or comment, which is detrimental to the club image.
Club Officials will take adequate steps to ensure the good behavior of their members and supporters towards the club.
Member(s) must at all times attend the practice session every Wednesday in a proper dress, no jeans/ trousers are allowed at the practice sessions.
Member(s) must arrange for a ride to the game, must inform the captain of the team before Wednesday of his availability, last moment refusal will not be accepted only in certain exceptions.
Member(s) must be wearing the uniform provided by the club in all games, no other clothing is allowed in the club.
Member(s) must have deposited the club dues and uniform cost prior to signing of this form.
Member(s) joining the club have no voting rights for the management positions or any decision making of the club.
POLICY STATEMENT
As is stated in Article of the Burrard Cricket Club Constitution, “the objects of the club shall be to control, organize, foster, improve, aid and extend the game of cricket for its member(s).” Consistent with these objects, the Club Officials will do its utmost to ensure that all member(s) play at the highest possible level of honesty, integrity and sportsmanlike fair play so as to provide opportunities for all players to experience and enjoy the game at its best. From time to time penalties/suspensions will be levied on member(s) for violations of the Code of Conduct.
